We have a 3 year old German shepherd dog who is a darling, but a handful. I'm hoping to find a wonderful kennel where he's not just left in a crate or pen all day.

We had a great spot in VA and wished we could bring it w/ us!!

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Alley

I almost hate to refer you to Tiger Tails because it is already so full it's hard to get in and I don't really need more people knowing about it....but it is a good place. We use Best Friends in Norcross because it actually has availability most of the time. Camp Woof is good for daycare, but I really don't like it for boarding.

There are lots of good places around. I used to go to Camp Bow Wow and my dog liked it, but a lot of people on Yelp had some problems with it. You never know what happened, but the way the owner responded to them showed me that he was a jerk and I didn't want to even risk a run-in with him.

There are lots of good places. When you start walking your dog around the neighborhood and talking to other dog owners you will quickly get a sense of where to go and where to avoid.

We LOVE Winding Creek Kennels. They are out in Winder, but from Suwanee, it shouldn't be too far. We're willing to drive the hour necessary to board our dogs there. It's a large farm, with lots of room for nature walks, etc. and the kennels and runs are spotless. The prices are also extremely reasonable.

Here's the Kudzu reviews on it:
