I don't know why people are surprised the falcons stunk it up. They are historically terrible since being in the A. A couple of years in 70s-80s they was decent in 2-3 years in the 90s they was decent Mike Vick gave excitement and a few wins and Matthew good in regular season.

Where have you been the last decade? The best run the Falcons have had in their 49 year history was the five years starting 2008.

2008: 11-5
2009: 9-7
2010: 13-3
2011: 10-6
2012: 13-3

Prior to this the Falcons never had a single instance of back to back winning seasons. Five in a row is undoubtedly the best stretch ever by miles.

Yes, they have stunk it up the past two years, but the franchise has never been better than it has been under the ownership of Arthur Blank. I have confidence he will make the appropriate changes to get them back to this type of record year in and year out.

Because under Head Coach Mike Smith and with QB Matt Ryan, from 2008-2012, they were second to my team...the Patriots...in winning percentage. They were #1 seed in 2012.

They went from top of the NFC to what you saw last night in just 2 years. My feeling is a good bit of the responsibility is on Dimitroff, and he dodged the bullet.

I think they made a big mistake. They should have kept Mike and got rid of Dimitroff.

One of the broadcasters during the Carolina game pointed out something I've been complaining about for years and years now. The Carolina team physically loomed over the Falcons like giants. I don't know what it is with this organization but they love to have scrappy talented guys with alot of heart but not enough size (jones, and White and a few others not included). That's why when they get in the playoffs with teams that have big dominate offensive and defensive lines they get pushed around. No amount of "toughness" can overcome this.

Whose fault is this? I would think it would be the General Manager more than the coach. It takes years of poor recruiting choices to wind up with the type of talent decencies the Falcons always seem to have.
