I don't know how I feel about such a huge complex being plopped down smack dab in the middle of the village. This is where the old church and library is right? It seems like it'll overwhelm the vibe.

Its where the Old Gordon School building was which has been abandoned for years and years. I think it will be a good thing for the village to have more people living there.

Ok. I do think it'll be good to have more people in the village but it will unarguably change things. But the last few times I've been to EAV things have looked kind of dead. Maybe this will give it a shot in the arm.

Cured just posted an article on this: Old East Atlanta School to Make Way for Apartments - Development Du Jour - Curbed Atlanta

But they apparently didn't bother to drive past the site recently because the old school has been gone for a couple months now. Site preparation seem to be well underway and I wouldn't be surprised if they have started foundation work since the last time I went past.

LOL. True story.

How long do you suppose it will be before the new residents try to shut down The Earl and other noisy nightclubs? I say one year.

Oh god I hadn't even thought of that. I hope it's never an issue and people who move there understand what kind of neighborhood it is.
