The first place MARTA is looking is the West End station.

“The stations that we have in mind are typically located in what we call food deserts," Denise Whitfield, MARTA manager of retail development, said. “Sometimes the patrons in those areas don’t have access to fresh produce...”

This will really help the stations become more part of the community and become a nexus of activity.

The way you can tell things have changed at MARTA isn't just the big things like more frequent trains or new routes but also all the little things, like this, they're doing to maximize the potential of the assets they already have.

I am in favor of it. They should do fruits and vegetables, flowers, newsstands, and similar amenities.

However, it will be critical to keep them up and to police the areas nearby so that there's not trash all over the place.

I think it's an awesome idea! If I took the train daily, I'd love the convenience.

As an added bonus, I noticed when I went to traffic court last year (don't judge me lol) that a lot of students take the train to school; this would be a great option for them to choose something other than vending machines.

Thumbs up!
