Hello All,

I grew up around Atlanta but later in life ended up out West here in Phoenix where I'm currently living. I never really considered this home and now, with wanting to be closer to more family, it's been decided that my family and I will relocate back this summer. I, ideally, would like to be employed prior to my move but I know how difficult that'll be for me since I'm not "local" yet. My first step is to network with some recruiters. Can anyone recommend any reputable technical recruiters in Atlanta? Thank you!

Charles

I would recommend starting with a search on indeed.com. You should see some actual position by companies (which you probably should apply to) and then you will see some "artificial" open position created by headhunters/staffing agencies. Start by contacting the staffing agencies that seem to have the most appropriate/relevant "positions" posted for your field of expertise. You are right in assuming that being out of town puts you at a slight disadvantage, but it is also true that lot of out-of-towners do get jobs and move here (or anywhere else) on a regular basis. You just have to be really patient and persistent and do a good job of polishing up your resume (nice and professional for your field), get some practice on phone interviews and interview skills in general (read some interviews for Dummies book, watch some Youtube videos on phone interviews and interviews in general, refresh your memories on typical interview questions/problem-solving for your field etc.)

Good luck!

You can do it but it will not be overnight. Find the recruiter and then sell yourself to them.

Search for technical recruiters via LinkedIn.
