Hi all,

I'll be transferring with my job to our office in Buckhead this summer and am looking for some advice on where to live. I'm a 23 year old single female professional and would like a short commute (under 20 minutes) to my office. I have a car, so I'd like to live somewhere that has parking included. Walkability isn't incredibly important, but I'd like to live somewhere with things to do. I'd also like to live in an area where I can meet other young people as I will not know anyone in the area. I will most likely need a roommate with my budget. Here are some more details:

Budget: Under $900 including utilities
Apartment, Condo, or Townhome are fine
Employed, commuting to Buckhead
No children
Preferable demographics: Other people my age

ANY advice would be appreciated! I'm starting from scratch right now and I'm not sure where to start looking.

Thanks!
Liz

Smyrna/Vinings area.

You can get a one bedroom that is safe for $750 ish per month in that area.

You can take the back roads to Buckhead for work.

Check out apartments of Akers Mill Rd

Good Luck!

Someone also mentioned that I should look into North Druid Hills but I don't know much about the area and haven't been able to find out much. Are there a lot of young people and things to do in the area (same questions for Vinings/Smyrna) or should I stick with Buckhead? With a roommate the maximum budget would be $1800/month.

You might could look at west Midtown, though your budget may be an issue there. But thanks to two colleges, there are plenty of people our age.

Thanks, I was looking at midtown but I didn't know how doable it would be with a car. Right now I'm living in the suburbs, though, so I am reallly looking forward to living near people our age

Depending on where in Midtown, and where your job in Buckhead is, you wouldn't need a car for your daily commute to Buckhead, MARTA rail serves Buckhead pretty well.

If you live in midtown there is no need to drive to work. You can take the train or bus route #110 which serves the Peachtree corridor and runs frequent during peak hours.

As far as Buckhead apartments, does anyone have thoughts on Uptown Buckhead, Post Lindbergh, and Post Peachtree Hills? Someone also recommended North Druid Hills (specifically Morgan Place and Sloan Square) but the reviews aren't as strong and I don't know much about the area
