Plus while Atlanta is a leader of Civil Rights, Cobb is the opposite. Even to the point of getting themselves internationally shunned during the Olympics: Olympic Torch Relay Will Skip Atlanta Suburb That Condemned Gay Life - NYTimes.com

And just suggest something like CoA annexing Cumberland area to get them MARTA access if you want to see a real freak out.

Cobb is an embarrassment to the Atlanta region. I can't wait until they have enough competent voters there to actually elect leaders that want to work with the region instead of against it.
Well, I've never heard those first two quotes, jsvh.

As far as "moving people into Cobb by rail,” I get the racist/classist inference. However, that's code for poor minorities. If you were talking about moving people from areas like Virginia-Highland, Morningside or Druid Hills I doubt that you'd heard that line.

The first was a campaign slogan used in Cobb. The second was a bumper sticker.

Move up to the 2010s. The 1960s were oh so 50 years ago.

From: Just got this from the braves about transportation to the stadium : Reddit

Seems like mostly at attempt for them to try advertize their "14" options to get into the area (that will still all be gridlocked). Love how you don't even have transit as an option to get into the area.

"Highway 75"? The hell?

Nice to see that there won't be any new half-diamonds from INTERSTATE 75 to the new ballpark. Pregame traffic isn't gonna be a problem. Nope, not at all.

I continue to be amazed at the anti-Cobb anti-Braves sentiment on this board. If the Braves had announced they were staying south of downtown and that billions of dollars of new investment was coming to the area, people would be doing backflips.

From today's ABC e-edition:

"The Atlanta Braves are worth $1.15 billion making them the No. 12 most valuable team in Major League Baseball, according to a new report from Forbes Inc.
Additionally, the report found the Braves have a revenue stream of $267 million and an operating income of $33.2 million."
