KensingtonInterior.jpgPaperwork filed with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs suggests the next MARTA station targeted for mixed-use development will be Kensington, a busy Blue Line hub one station east of Avondale Estates, near Interstate 285. With a working title of "Avondale Hills," the project would consist of 408 multi-family units, 114 homes and nearly 55,000 square feet of commercial space, with a tentative completion date of November 2017. MARTA owns six acres at the station, which is dominated now by nearly 2,000 parking spaces.

Finally south dekalb gets something nice, but too bad the 3 apartments closest to that station are hoods. $450-500 a month, what do you expect.

I hope it works out. I also hope they get a bus running Kensington-Avondale-Decatur again. I also hope Avondale annexes it (prior to construction), this sounds like a good tax-generator for them.
