And exactly what of substance is Chik-Fil -A receiving in return for this generous gesture? Honestly, I don't understand how people can spin an apparently kind act into something nefarious. I suppose it boils down to the idea that some have a real bug up their butts over those that live by Christian principles.

Chik-Fil-A Gets a slightly higher level of security in the stores when the cops are there, and there often. Trouble is not likely to happen in the restaurants when a cop or two are sitting there eating and there squad cars are parked in the lot.

Anyone looking to rob a Chik-Fil-A will notice there are cops there often, and pick a different place to rob, tht might not have cops there as often.

Too right. I made that point earlier in the thread. But how does that constitute an outright bribe? The police gotta eat somewhere.

You know what an apostrophe is, right? I didn't say our enemies are governments. I said they are our government's enemies, not mine. I haven't bombed the world for the last hundred years.

To be clear, my freedom is not protected by military. It is jeopardized by it. If you grew up seeing your homeland bombed by an unwelcome foreign government, you would view them as radical terrorists. Bombs make enemies, not democracies.

Back in the old days, merchants would give a little monetary "donation" to the local mob boss.

This would only be a problem is the police shows a prejudice against any establishment that are not offering freebies.

I do believe that is cause for concern. If what ATLTJL said earlier is true, that is what is happening.
