Does anyone know if this is a good or bad school? What are it's programs like. Great Schools has it at 7, but there are bad reviews.

Magnet School mostly known for arts/music its mostly black been that way since I graduated from Marietta High in the 2003. Boys Basketball team in the State championship game they play Wheeler High whom they lost too last yr in the state semi. Has AP and IB programs still I think. Everybody i knew that went there loved it and my ex girl younger cousins go there now they love it. Most people these days go by reviews of schools so if you got a bad feeling about it dont send your child there. Me on the other hand.... well i dont push my opinions on others like i say if you dont like the reviews dont consider it. Also i doubt the reviews from most people on here are gonna favor Pebblebrook over and other East Cobb, North Cobb, or West Cobb high schools....Most magnet schools have an heavy influence of art/music(band,all kinds of dance also) and they are mostly good in academics contrary to popular beliefs

I went to Pebblebrook from '95 to '97 and I enjoyed it a lot. Didn't get to finish there since we moved to South Cobb district. I lived very close to the school, almost across the street so it was very convenient. I wasn't in the Performing Arts program which was huge, probably still is. Then there were more black people than other races but I remember it being very diverse overall. The academics probably weren't and aren't up to the levels of the schools in north and west Cobb but they had AP and IB classes then and I felt challenged in the honors classes I were in. The people were cool, quite a variety of types of people, it was a cool melting pot which was good for a person like me as someone who was and still am not the life of the party, not popular haha, I didn't feel so excluded. I felt more pride there than any other school. A lot of fond memories of my time there. Not sure how it is these days though.

No problem the boys basketball team lost by 1 point to wheeler last night. A couple of people in the area of mableton/austell said they feel things are looking up for Pebblebrook. A lot of the alumni seems to have gained interest in the school and the boys basketball coach seems like he care for academics not just sports. I heard how he stays on the kids to stay in books and holds them accountable for they grades and attitude in school

Damonta, You make me suspect you are on the way to leaving dear old F.P. Good luck, brother, where ever you wind up. If you do move, I am going to miss my "Clayton County" ally! Clayton County: Talk It Up!

Mook mentions the number of performing arts students, it is Cobb County's magnet high school for the performing arts.

Their aren't many amenities in Mableton, a bunch of weave shops and good Caribbean restaurants. The best thing about Mableton is location, connected to west Atlanta, close to Six Flags and I-20 which gets you to downtown ATL in 20mins, close to Smyrna, the Cumberland Mall, and easy access to the air port and Douglasville.
