Because they are the old farts that keep blocking Marta.
I'm sorry I guess Google maps with traffic isn't showing red every day on 85. The colors must be like looking at "the dress"

I also forget about the MARTA line running down 85. My bad.

I have and graduated from a high school in Cobb and its not all peaches and cream either as some people make it out too be so it kinda goes both ways. Probably is a few old heads that dont want MARTA still but old heads are in every city/county across the nation thats how i look at it

Some of Cobbs exits are what cause some of the woes and leaving 285 on the top end onto 75 is terrible just like 285 to 85 in Gwinnett is also. Really for me if i can be on the interstate before 330 im good

As I recall the average Cobb commute is about 30 minutes, which is not bad at all.

Why cast a negative light on an entire county of 800k people due to a few "old heads"?

The demographics have changed dramatically in terms of age spans and race over the past two generations, I'd say. Of course, I don't know 800k people here, but of those I know who live here, most would welcome rail service as an option. The entire region will suffer long term if a fix is not embraced, as residential suburban growth will continue and will outpace that of the city core.

Spot on, on all accounts, as usual!

I would guess that number is significantly diluted from folks that work part time jobs at the store down the street. The average commute time from Cobb to downtown/midtown/perimeter/buckhead is certainly much longer than 30min (obviously varies depending on where in cobb, but I bet average is 45-50min).

And I know this may come as a bit of a shock to you, but there are job centers in places other than downtown/midtown/perimeter/buckhead. There's even one or two in Cobb county!
