A lot of it is likely based on one's political beliefs and whether or not they match up with the President.

Pain can be mitigated pretty easily by not leaving at 5. It's a jerk move.
Worth repeating - Was it a jerk move when W did it. Because he did it. The. exact. same. thing.

Multiple times.

Well, I am glad he came on down even if was just for fundraising.

Presidential visits from either side help keep the ATL on the map. Since we're such a red state we don't get much national campaign action.

Not for nothing, but this was still handled better than Paul Ryan's visit to fundraise in Cobb in 2012. I remember being stuck in my PARKING GARAGE for 30 minutes, just trying to get to a road.

This time I just cruised on down 75/85 southbound, where all the exits were closed around 5pm. best commute all month, if I was being honest.

Can you stop? It means something to people who had to sit and wait. Why else were there news reports about the impending traffic? The whole motorcade probably lasted 30 seconds, but it takes a while afterwards to even get back to normal rush traffic. Even I-20 was a mess because it crosses over 75. It has nothing to do with whether we like the guy or not (I admire him), but it's a nuisance. You call it whining, others call it simply stating what happened. We also know Obama had nothing to do with the scheduling.

I took 75 to 85 around 5:45ish to avoid the backup on 285 due to the accident at 20 on the east side and it was smooth sailings through downtown. No backup as usual around Moore's Mill. 85 was a speed limit ride as well.
