This is our first year in GA. We have two kids 12 and 7 and looking for fun and educative stuff to do in summer. Any ideas? GA tech seems to have some programs but it is a fairly long hike from Fulton county. Anything else coming to mind, even if not educative but fun and some new skills picked up along the way? Thanks for the suggestions.

Where about in Fulton? It's a LONG county...

If you live in Fairburn, you probably are not going to go to Milton or vice versa.

If Georgia Tech is too far away--these will be too--but for those who got hooked by the title, here are two nature/environmental camps to consider:
1) Zoo Camp at Grant Park
Safari Day Camps

2) Trees Atlanta's Junior Treekeepers
Junior TreeKeepers || Trees Atlanta

The Trees Atlanta camp will involve biking, and your kids will probably get more exercise with their nature stuff (my 11 Y/O felt like he did not get enough exercise at the Zoo Camp, but my 10Y/O loved it).

Emory hosts some science camps every year. Also the National Computer Camp is usually in metro Atlanta. My son went one year and really enjoyed it and it is good for older kids who like technology. They also have a sports based section as well. They will be at Ogelthorpe University this summer

Here are Emory's that I know about

I believe they also host a slew of other camps via other programs.
