Our home, daycare, and offices are all juuuust far enough apart to make transit a logistical nightmare. I'd rather have an extra hour or two per day to eat breakfast with my kids and take them to the park instead of herding them around on trains and busses twice a day. I understand that might not jive with your idea of urban utopia. When the weather and schedules allow, I try to ride. It doesn't happen as often as it could or should, especially now that kids are in the mix.
You made your choice, then stop complaining about a plan to upgrade safety and operation on DeKalb FOR EVERYONE, when you have an alternative.

So do the folks who choose to bike down Dekalb, when they have alternatives as well. Sorry the rhythm of life can't be molded to fit your ideals.

You are viewing this as them removing the contraflow lane, ONLY to add bike lanes and that is not what this project is about. It is about safety and operations improvements of a roadway that sees higher than average crashes. Under the city's adopted Complete Streets program, if there is available ROW, they will add infrastructure to bring it up to Complete Streets standard.

3/4 of a mile is better than a mile, and walking on a sidewalk in a wooded residential area with, at most, one street crossing, is far better than the walk you'd have to make to get to King Memorial from anywhere on the Beltline.

Freedom Parkway actually is reasonably close to MARTA. There's a paved path that leads directly from the Carter Center (which is on Freedom Parkway) to Inman Park MARTA station. I walk it all the time with my dog. It's an easy and pleasant walk that doesn't take long.

And folks here wonder why some might be "averse" to using MARTA as part of a regular commute.

Sorry, no Rail Alerts on their website or Twitter. Could be photoshopped.
But I am glad you posted this, here is an excellent example of a driving breaking the law and using a mobile device while driving. And drivers say only cyclists break traffic laws.

Yeah, someone faking photos like this is a way more plausible explanation than an entire station not having power and MARTA just failing to communicate the problem to customers via Twitter.

Where is the proof the station had no power? That is a major issue and one that every news outlet would cover (because some of them can't pass up an opportunity to bash MARTA.)

How is this any different than the 174 minute travel time on I-75 SB between Wade Green and 285? Does that mean people should give up on that road? MARTA does experience delays and issues, as does our road network.
Oh and thank you for finding a Tweet about the issue at North Springs.
