You are viewing this as them removing the contraflow lane, ONLY to add bike lanes and that is not what this project is about. It is about safety and operations improvements of a roadway that sees higher than average crashes. Under the city's adopted Complete Streets program, if there is available ROW, they will add infrastructure to bring it up to Complete Streets standard.

3/4 of a mile is better than a mile, and walking on a sidewalk in a wooded residential area with, at most, one street crossing, is far better than the walk you'd have to make to get to King Memorial from anywhere on the Beltline.
Freedom Parkway actually is reasonably close to MARTA. There's a paved path that leads directly from the Carter Center (which is on Freedom Parkway) to Inman Park MARTA station. I walk it all the time with my dog. It's an easy and pleasant walk that doesn't take long.

Yeah, someone faking photos like this is a way more plausible explanation than an entire station not having power and MARTA just failing to communicate the problem to customers via Twitter.

Where is the proof the station had no power? That is a major issue and one that every news outlet would cover (because some of them can't pass up an opportunity to bash MARTA.)
