King Historic District Stop is across the street from this tower.
Quote:
The Wheat Street Towers – the nation’s first federally funded, church-sponsored affordable senior high rise – recently received the green light from the Invest Atlanta and HUD to close on a $24 million dollar deal to renovate the 14 floor, 210 unit building. Invest Atlanta, a component of the city’s Economic Development Authority arm, will contribute $12.5M from its coffers to launch the initial phase I of this renovation project
Quote:
All of the Wheat Street properties are located within Atlanta’s primary urban Transit Oriented Development (TOD) area. Studies show that urban TODs are creating quite the buzz in inner city areas around the country. Real estate developers are very eager to work with transit authority officials, city planners, and property owners in and around city mass transit hubs to revamp these properties into vibrant inviting successful enterprises.

According to a filing with the agency, developer Gene Kansas plans to transform much of the building into a co-working office space complete with coffee bar.

Much of the first floor of the building currently houses the Apex Museum, which will remain, while upstairs the Southern Education Foundation will be relocating to make way for the new office.

The nearly 10,000-square-foot space will feature offices and studies, a library, a conference room, breakout spaces, a podcast studio, and the Milky Way Coffee Bar.

Once completed, the offices will provide space for two Residency Program Offices for Georgia State University and Georgia Tech, two Field Offices for community-oriented nonprofits, and offices for up to 25 community organizations.

Posted in another thread, but applies here as there is a streetcar stop across the street

Gilbane Development Co., a division of Gilbane, has applied for a permit with Atlanta to convert the 18-story office building at 100 Edgewood Ave. into a multifamily property. The building lies close to Georgia State University's campus.

Of course, some will continue to argue the investment was coming regardless of the streetcar, given the current economic boom Atlanta’s experiencing. Despite the never-ending chicken or the egg conundrum, one thing is clear: The neighborhoods along the streetcar line have experienced major investments since the line was first announced, and more projects are planned in coming years.

We've been averaging over 1200 people a day over the past five months. The last month we averaged over 1500 people a day. The last month saw 11,200 more than 2016. The last five months saw 38,000 more people than the same time last year.
