I could definitely see a major mixed-use development being built here....

A new test of just how high Buckhead land may be valued has arrived: A 10.93-acre property in the heart of Buckhead, zoned residential and subdivided into multiple parcels, is up for sale for $10.5 million or $960,659 an acre.
The property at the intersection of Northside Drive and Broadland Road is being sold by Johnny Imerman, the former CEO of Mindis Recycling

I used to drive by that corner all the time, and I can't see that tract being rezoned with any commercial as part of the mix. It's essentially a residential horse farm today, and is surrounded by mega-mansions. I imagine those folks would protest pretty vehemently against the idea of it being turned into anything but more mega-mansions.

At nearly $1M acre, that's going to end up with about 15-20 homes in the upper six-figure range.

Agree. I hope they leave the mature trees around the perimeter of the parcel. It's really a beautiful piece of property. It's always amazed me that it could be so quiet and forested just a stone's throw from Lenox.

Maybe the seller can finally make good on pledges he made to the synagogue and then bailed on. He has a horrible reputation from what I have heard.

I was on the receiving end of a very racist remark by Johnny Imerman when I was 12 years old, for I was not Jewish. I hope the reason he is selling is because it is in the process of being foreclosed upon, much like his house on Blackland in 2001. And hopefully he takes his racists ass back to South Africa.

I drive by this property every day. I'm curious if it's proximity to Nancy Creek would be an issue.

Yes, much of it looks unbuildable to me. I just assumed that's why it has remained undeveloped all these years.

Yeah - if I'm looking at the right lot, it's pretty much all in a flood zone.

Apparently he's no favorite with the neighborhood or with the city. He is no stranger to court either. He was operating a horse boarding business called the Buckhead Barn, keeping 25-30 horses on property that only permitted a max of 5.Noisy events there were not infrequent, adding noise complaints into the mix. He ignored city orders to cease and desist; his ultimate defense was that it was a home-based business, although he actually lived in Sandy Springs.
