Does anyone have or know where I might be able to find pictures of the old Morningside Chase Apartments located at 1445 Monroe Drive in Atlanta. I am interested in the original "tin box" architecture of the property that was built in the early 70's. Years ago, I was able to find one small picture by googling but I can't even find that now. The apartments were remodeled and converted to condos in the early 2000's.

Any luck finding pictures of Morningside Chase Apartments before they became Carlyle Heights Condo's?

I used to live there, but I don't have any either - with the exception of some from my balcony back into the trees. The first time I saw the place, it immediately reminded me of the ugly apartments found all over L.A.

There was never a dull moment there, that's for sure! Back then it was known as 'Vaseline Valley.'

Weren't there a couple of really high-profile home invasion style murders there in the early 2000s?

I don't recall that at all, but I moved out in the mid-90's for where I live now in NW DeKalb. It was pretty safe when I was there.

I did a cursory search under "Monroe Manor" given that that was the name of the complex when I moved here in 1979 well before they were sold & renamed as Morningside Chase in the 1980's.
Nothing turned up from my search so I can't help you with any imagery.
That being said, perhaps someone here with even longer affiliations & memories of retro Atlanta will know if they were built under yet another name when originally constructed or if Monroe Manor was their first name
Good luck!
