There's also the Sweetwater 420 Fest April 17-19. I really want to go on Sunday evening, but I'm not sure I'll be able to after telling the wife we couldn't afford her Chastain Park concert (those things are so damn expensive!!).

Can someone provide a good list of food festivals?

There is a Low Country Boil one coming up, Taste of ATL in the Summer, and Battle of the Burgers later in the summer.

I am quite fond of the art festival that runs along the park on Ponce, near the Paideia School, though I can't remember the time of year or the name of it, just that it was extremely hot the last time we went! Edit: I guess that's the Festival on Ponce!

Very much looking forward to checking out the Taste of Marietta, now that we live within walking distance.

yeah - see Dogwood is too curated for me. I like the fun street environment, and I kinda prefer the funkier artists at Inman Park. (but I also have known a few personally, so I go to visit them- so my opinion is probably preferential)

To each his own, I suppose. Not that I have any artistic talent whatsoever, but most of the stuff I see at Inman Park just wouldn't fit into our decor at all. But for some people, it works, and clearly the folks creating it have talent - it just doesn't appeal to our sense of style.

I don't know... sorta always felt that if you goto one art/beer/taste of/bbq festival, the rest will be similar but on a slightly different park or street. The same/similar vendors are usually at each one too.

You aren't far off. a lot of vendors are on different 'festival circuits'. That's why when I did festivals, I put in a "community price" tier. Where if you are a resident of the City sponsoring it, you get a ridiculously low booth rent. Which means my artists, and my food purveyors come out as well, and it isn't just the same circuit folks you see everywhere.

The Inman Park Festival is held in Atlanta's first planned neighborhood. It is always held the last weekend of April. Inman Park Festival | Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes – April 24 – 26, 2015 There will be live music, dance, food, artists, kids play area, tour of homes and the parade is on Saturday.

Please take MARTA. If you get off at the Inman Park Station (E3 - Blue Line), as you exit the station on the Inman Park side (not Reynoldstown side) you will literally be in the festival. Here is a map of the festival Map | Inman Park Festival The streets to the festival are all closed to vehicular traffic so parking in the neighborhood is very difficult and with the new projects of Krog Street Market and Inman Quarter - street parking will be at a minimum.

Friendly reminder that pets and strollers are not allowed at all City of Atlanta festivals.

You know, Inman Park Festival is a lot of fun, but the food there is embarrassing. One generic mega-vendor selling everything from corn dogs and pizza to gyros. It's better when the food vendors are local restaurants and food trucks, and Inman Park Festival is one of the few festivals that hasn't realized this yet.
