How is carrying your bags through a parking deck worse than a parking lot? If anything, The deck would be shaded and the parking lot is not.

Of course Instacart is even easier way to do your Whole Foods shopping and car-free.

Their renderings/plans are probably changing since this doesn't have 60,000 sq feet of retail space, but they are to have a parking deck:

That rendering is Phase 1 of the planned project. The Whole Foods would likely be on the remainder of that block (possibly in phase 2) and I would imagine the store would front 14th street.

Its a HUGE difference and is indicative a culture change in the Atlanta's urban core. It really is starting to feel like Midtown is on the cusp of true urban livability.

Midtown is really turning into something special. You have a perfect blend of professionals, and older retired workers who desire to live in the city. I love all the bicycles, joggers, and foot traffic. I think Midtown is defining a original image of Atlanta where she don't have to be a cheap copy of another american city. I'm looking for foreign investor to take not so midtown can get some towers over 60 stories.

Midtown does have many skyscrapers, but I personally prefer a more pedestrian scale like Washington, D.C. to the "canyon effect" of the Peachtree Center area downtown or that "other" midtown (New York City). I know that many here are "density" advocates, but you can achieve density with low rises as well at a more human scale. I feel like Washington is the most beautiful city in America, dense as well, and it was achieved without "man made canyons" or high rises. Many of you also tout a "European" model; most European capitals are more like Washington, D.C., not New York City, in their residential building patterns.

I agree, would much rather see mid rise buildings than one tall building. Needing super tall buildings is like buying a big, jacked up truck to compensate for a small...

This is such a landmark development for Midtown, especially for that stretch of West Peachtree which is pretty desolate right now.

For as much flack as Novare have taken for their generic Skyhouse's the fact that they put their money where their mouths are and developed where few others wanted too they really helped to spark all the development we are seeing now.
