This is my rating. What would your rating be and why? What can we do to have all of our school systems be good for education.

Fulton? Overall maybe mid pack but North Fulton alone are top 3/4. I think Gwinnett, Cobb, Fayette and N Fulton are a tossup. Fayette County does not have a single bad high school which is quite remarkable. Even Gwinnett has a few terrible schools as does Cobb. Don't have much experience out of GCPS but I think the county's schools are very well run overall given their huge population. A lot of the schools are in areas with transient populations that are a lot harder to build a successful program around. In a lot of schools like Brookwood you have families that can invest time and money into their schools, from elementary to high, from arts to sciences, and from academics to athletics programs. Much harder to do that in poorer areas where the vast majority of funding must come from the county or state.

Don't forget Buford. Same performance Gwinnett is known for but smaller sizes. And a dominant football program.

Decatur City and Fayette County on top, all others following up the pack. Fulton County Schools cannot be "separated" North/ South; they are the same school system. It seems to me that ALL school systems here in the Metro (including the much maligned Clayton, Atlanta City, and Dekalb systems) have some areas to bragg about, and some areas to work on. I guess what I am saying is that the school systems of Metro Atlanta are a mixed bag of good, bad, and even excellent. I feel like the City Schools of Decatur and Fayette County have a few more in the excellent column, but no school, no matter how high achieving, can take the place of parental support at home. If you went into all the best schools of Metro Atlanta in all the school districts you would probably find a very involved parental structure. I can guarantee you that is the common thread from Jonesboro to Johns Creek.
