I'm a fan of the team, not individual players. What are you a fan of? Players leave teams every year. This is nothing new.

And these players that everyone loved won you 79 games last year.

What about the "team"?

I think many true Atlanta Braves fans would sympathize with past Brooklyn Dodger fans:

Quote:
...O'Malley [the Dodgers Owner] was so hated by Brooklyn Dodger fans, after the move to California, that it was said, "If you asked a Brooklyn Dodger fan, if you had a gun with only two bullets in it and were in a room with Hitler, Stalin and O'Malley, who would you shoot? The answer: O'Malley, twice!"

That the Braves have made a break from their past and are as different a team as the LA Dodgers and the Brooklyn Dodgers and true fans are perfectly justified at not supporting the new team as so little of the past team they loved is left.

How is the Dodgers moving to California even remotely similar to whatever it is we are talking about ?

You're right, the Dodgers probably retained more of their players in their move.

What is the mileage cut off for when you are allowed to resent a team's betrayal-move?

Because Turner Field and SunTrust Park are about 14 miles apart, whereas old Ebbets Field and Dodger Stadium are about 2800 miles apart. Pretty much the same distance.
