What's the big deal? Close in, heavily developed areas like Cumberland are clearly part of urban Atlanta.

Except the county wants no part of working with other urban jurisdictions in moving the entire metro forward.

Arjay - As has been covered before, it is not so much about the location as the intent. Hank Aaron did not take $400M tax dollars to locate his Car Dealership on the south side and then start marketing BMWs as cars for south side metro residents, not for those in north metro.

The Braves are moving after being lured by public subsidies? Residents of Boston and Milwaukee are shocked to hear the news.

So you still expect Boston and Milwaukee to be rapid Braves fans?

The Hawks are all over this with the "True to Atlanta" tagline. I bet the Falcons do something similar this fall, although they priced out most of their fanbase.

Yeah, think the MLS team has real potential to embrace the city where the Braves left out too.

If I'm not mistaken the ARC (Atlanta's primary regional planning authority) was until recently led by the head of the Cumberland CID.

And let us not forget that a Cobb based business was the origin for such intown amenities as the Georgia aquarium and the new Falcons stadium.
