Hi Atlanta,

My wife and I will be in Atlanta for 5 days in Feb for a convention at the Georgia World Conference Center. Our convention experience has been that we spend very little time in our hotel, normally leaving in the morning and crashing at night.

We have three accomodation choices we are considering for this trip.

A) Spend $1200+ for nicer hotel very close to the GWCC. (most convenient, but expensive)

B) Stay with relatives in Cumming and commute back and forth each morning and night either by car or Marta. (free stay, but long commute)

C) Find a reasonably close mid-grade hotel such as Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express with easy public transportation to and from the center. (balance of cost and convenience)

We're leaning toward C and wonder if anyone with experience navigating to and from the GWCC such as we'll be doing has any suggestions or feedback on possible hotels to consider that might satisfy option C.

Or if you have other suggestions or insight to share.

Thanks
Steve

There really aren't many "mid-grade" hotels near GWCC- about the only thing I can think of is the Days Inn off of Spring Street.

Try Priceline or Hotwire. You should be able to get a 3 or 4 star for 5 days under 600 dollars for your entire stay. Limit your searches to Downtown and Midtown. You would be able to catch the Marta to the Peachtree Center station (Downtown and close to the GWCC) on the North/South Line and have a close wlak to the GWCC from there without having to change trains at 5 points station.
