Doesn't bother me too much. Nothing is as bad as that Olympic torch that is across from Ga. Tech on 75.

Why not? As long as it isn't tax funded who cares? Just build it and let it succeed or fail on its merit.

Nah man, I welcomed Skyview as it is a classic attraction that's not too hard on the eyes.

This thing, however, is extremely tacky looking. It would look weird with downtown as a backdrop (if that's even where they put it). It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't have the rollercoaster aspect to it.

Is this a serious proposal, or just an idea? Will there be public hearings on this?

Not only is it ugly (might be okay for Orlando, but not here), it's so short and stubby. The Westin's observation deck will still be way taller, so what's the point of this tower?

Let's hope it gets shot down.

Nope...I loved the idea of the observation wheel, but this is just gimmicky looking and tacky and wouldn't compliment Atlanta at all. It immediately reminded me of the monorail salesman on the Simpsons a few years back.

That thing is tacky, but it's small potatoes compared to this monstrosity...and a lot less permanent looking.

I second the downtown idea; it needs a central draw.
