Perhaps you should stop thumping your chest and offer a counter argument. The OP left items in her car (not just a "radio"), as stated in the very first post on this thread. The items got stolen. Big surprise.

Read the first post. OP said she left that and other things in the car, which also got stolen. Here, I'll make it easy for you.

Also, it's worth noting that you said not all of these systems have removable faceplates, which means some do have removable face plates. If the OP's system has a removable faceplate, she should remove it when leaving her car.

Your argument sounds along the lines of, "Look at what she was wearing. Of course, she got raped."

Nothing taken, other than the non-removable, in-dash system, was visible, nor was anything else particularly valuable, but that doesn't affect my aforementioned point.

That's BS. People don't get raped because of their clothing style, but their cars do tend to get broken into when there's something of value inside which is visible to passersby. Your accusation against me is a false equivalence.

My parents always said do not leave anything, even loose change, in plain sight in your car. I have had some pretty decent cars that I have parked in some prety sketchy places but have nor had a problem. I have one former friend who refuses to lock his car doors anymore because of the number of time his cars have been broken into. I cannot vouch for has parked them, but he did not want anymore broken glass.

I think we should all just be careful. The OP is lucky they did not just take the car altigetger with hiim/her in it. I am not a criminal but think if I were, I'd just take the whole thing and sort out the details of what I wanted later.

Yes, her analogy was over the top. But, she knows how she left her car. The theifs were obviously after her in-dash radio/interactive-screen, and there really wasn't much she could do to hide that. You can still do everything right and still have bad things happen.
