Not sure who to contact, but lanes near West Peachtree and Ivan Allen was reduced from 3 lanes to 2 lanes. The newly paint lines seems very uneven and cause the lanes to merge and end very suddenly. It seems like a recipe for many accidents.

I am not familiar with that area, but I think someone must have a vendetta with West Peachtree and clear signage.

I was in the left lane on West Peachtree shortly after turning off of Spring, and the next thing I knew I was on the Buford Spring Connector. Even though it got me where I was going faster (Piedmont), I could have used a little warning that I needed to merge to keep straight which was my intent. There are basically no lights next to that concrete wall, and if I were a panicky type, I probably would have forced my way back in to keep straight but I was like whatever, but I was not pleased.

Metro Atlanta has a major problem with poor signage. In particular, at several intersection you never know from the signs what the correct lane to be in is until you are actually there. This is why I usually let drivers with out-of-town tags cut in front of me if they clearly signal their intent, so long as doing so won't cause a traffic problem.

I definitely agree with you. I think they are designed for locals with just in case you forgot, make a left where some structure used to be. The traffic is heavy so whatever it is that needs to be said needs to be said a whole lot sooner than it often is.

I even have an issue with street name signs on corners. I mean what is this twisted up thing and what street am I on? They seem to have no problem changing the street name in the middle of the road so why not clearly label it?

I let out of town tags in as well. I know they are likely confused and have a situation.

Where exactly are you talking about? I've driven Ivan Allen hundreds of times, and don't know anywhere that it has been three lanes in either direction. Less familiar with West Peachtree, but don't know of any three-lane sections.

It's the last street before you cross the bridge into midtown it was previously three lanes, but now two.

Still don't know whether you're talking about Ivan Allen, or West Peachtree as the street which has lost a lane. And when you say "three lanes", do you mean two in one direction, and one in the other, or that one direction was three lanes and is now two?

I'm just confused exactly what you're talking about.

I think he means Peachtree St. after it passes Ivan Allen/Ralph McGill they redid the road markings to convert a "third lane" that was also on-street parking to bike lanes, in preparation for the construction to commence on the bridge to beautify it and improve the pedestrian experience (bigger sidewalks also taking some of the third lane that is now just bike paths).
