So my daughter attended when she was less than 18 months, so there is not much other than activity time, arts and crafts, etc. Again, exactly why I did not suggest it.

We thought this place was pretty good. Around $625 a month (x 2), an educational curriculum, open from 6am to 7pm, certified staff, and offers extra activities like ballet, piano, swimming, tumbling, karate, etc. Only problem is that it's in the 'burbs.
That place sounds great! That's the kind of place I'd be looking for intown. Although, they lose a half point for having the image from the Unhelpful Teacher Meme on their front page!

$1200, whew! Now I know we made the right decision to have me hold so many extra jobs and keep my wife at home with our three. We would have gone in the hole every month at these prices!

For the price of the higher end daycare, you could just rent your child his own house. HA.

I'm honestly wondering what people think is a fair price for high-quality full time childcare?
I am sorry, I misread the OP and thought he said his budget was $1000/month. I agree, though, that that is the going rate for quality care, and doing the math (as above) it is hard to imagine how a center could pay its workers a decent amount and keep the student/teacher ration low without charging at least that.
