Unnecessarily harsh and defensive.

But to the OP, no we're not as "prestigious" as those cities you mentioned.

Cities like Atlanta and the FL cities are never mentioned as prestigious. Texas is, somewhat, but still far, far less prestigious than the premiere CA and northeastern metros.

Do you think Atlanta has the prestige of northeastern metros, CA metros, Chicago, etc?
Fortunately, Mercedes Benz, Porsche and Pinewood Studios (among others) didn't sit in at your employer's meetings.

A bit pretentious, are we?

You've bought into whatever they've sold you, hook, line and sinker.

Let me guess, you're under age 30 and fairly new in your "career"?

Is there even a need to compare?

Atlanta is a great city just like those mentioned. Let's leave it at that.

We all know Atlanta is great, but come'on. We know what the OP is talkin about. And regardless of age. People love prestige, $$$ and being in a world class. City. ATL just not there yet....

I live in London and I consider Atlanta to be a great city and would love to relocate there as do a lot of my close friends and relatives. The major thing that let's Atlanta down is it's public transport system and maybe it's lack of buzz in the downtown area.

I was driving around Atlanta today and I'm astonished at the transformation taking place in so many intown neighborhoods. The city is evolving at a very fast pace and anyone who hasn't toured the city in a few years should get out and take a look.
