Personally I would rather have had the park conservancy do it. But again the state may be a better steward of the land than the city.

It's downtown. You don't need parking, there's enough parking decks in the area and it has direct MARTA access on the most accessible station.

I thought the city was supposed to be trending away from surface parking lots? That doesn't seem like progress.

There is literally no area in Georgia more transit accessible than Five Points. I mean, come on, here.

In the defense of the surface parking lot, it does already exisit. They are just keeping it. Not near as bad as building a new one.

I kind of doubt that's the final plan. On WRS's site there are other renderings that look better.
