Reeeeeal genius.
While she might deserve to be busted on for her grammar, . . . she makes a valid point with real world examples.
Stone Mtn. is NOT the ghetto/hood that some are claiming. It has some bad areas, and some ignorant loud people. I have spent time there, and I have always found it to be peaceful, and folks were ALWAYS nice to me, and I always felt safe.

True.

It is only starting here, but I definitely see the shift. It will be interesting to see what ATL looks like in 20 years.

If you can visit first ! Downtown is not a safe place to be anymore . And Stone Mtn. has some very nice homes with well kept landscapes all owned by blacks . But the blacks there were very rude when we visited S.Mtn. laser show 4 years ago .

I would not live near any place that has such racism against anyone . If your black it's probably ok .

Lithonia is somewhat nice around Stone Crest mall. They have a cool biking trail that starts over in McDonough and connects to other trails on the way.

Anywhere I start seeing homeless people, public transportation, or rented homes I don't find the area safe.

It's attitudes like Jimmeh's that are the reason that metro Atlanta is so far behind other places when it comes to a good public transportation network. Public Transit does not bring crime!

Lol, how can you say that when crime often happens on public transportation? Someone doesn't always have to be injured with crime. I've had countless friends who have lost mp3 players, wallets, even shoes. Not every holdup is on the news. Homeless people will ride the train to find new places to beg. It most certainly brings in it. I'm not talking about domestic violence. <- That's everywhere.

Really? Sounds like petty thievery could happen pretty much anywhere: a crowded mall, a gym locker, Wal-Mart parking lot. God people are paranoid.

Not with guns. It just doesn't happen where I grew up. That's not being paranoid that's a stating facts. I still ride public transportation, but I don't enjoy it.
