I believe they are refering to the Hispanic/Latino (whichever is more correct to use these days) population and not the black population, morningstar. As of a couple of years ago, Hispanics now outnumber blacks in the U.S., and by "around" 2050 should outnumber anglo-whites as well. However, they do not refer to themselves typically as "people of color".

^People of color can refer to any non-white. Therefore, blacks, Asians and non-white Hispanics, all minorities, can also be "people of color."

White flight is definitely reversing itself...they call it "gentrification". As a resident in Edgewood I see it with my own eyes. The suburbians can't stand the terrible traffic and commute so they find a house in a trendy, up and coming neighborhood and tell their friends how much they love being back in the city. Next, their friends come and by two other houses on the block. Meanwhile, because houses are being sold and purchased the property tax goes up, so that old couple who's been living in this neighborhood, through good and bad, for 30 years can no longer afford the taxes on their house, and has to move. And then some yuppy couple from Alpharetta moves right on in without skipping a beat. It disgusts me.

Yow...bitter much? The funny thing is, you allude to how vile Alpharetta is, so the people in question are doomed in your eyes either way. So either they are suburban drones stuck in the strip mall hell, or they are horrible opportunists defiling your sacred Edgewood. So, basically, they simply cannot win. Did it ever occur to you that perhaps if these older couples had taken better care of the homes and community, that it would not be low-cost to begin with?

In the State of Georgia it will be more around the 2015 timeframe.
Currently, by the recent release of 2006 Census and Almanac figures for the state, the current white population has now shrank to 57%.
Under the current population growth, 2006 estimates by the Census breaks down as follows:

In 2006 the State of Georgia's population growth for the year was estimated at 265,000 people.

In 2006 the Atlanta MSA accounted for 160,000 of the 265,000.

In 2006 the State of Georgia had a total reduction estimate in white population of 7,000.

In 2006 100% of the net population growth was non-white.

Under the current migration from the Rust Belt, New Orleans, and California, it is estimated by the year 2015, the overall white population of Georgia will fall below 50% joining the other states of Hawaii, Texas, California, and New Mexico as a majority / minority state.

You can find this information by researching the US Census and 2008 World Almanac for the figures

I'll only say, that if I said Whites outnumbered coloreds I'd be banned in no time. Ironic

That being said, White kids are a minority to colored kids in Cobb County now. We're that Red-Evil Non-Progressive County.

i guess my post was deleted because it spoke truth Dekalb county is the 2ND RICHEST BLACK COUNTY it is not ghetto the success of blacks is underplayed we get no appreciation for being successful i feel insulted at the fact that my home is even being considered the hood, when white people commit crimes it's just one person wen black people commit crimes the whole race has to be held accountable, there is crime everywhere get over it, yea we might have people who smoke weed in our neighborhoods but atleast we don't have people who do meth if you don't want to live in this area that's fine but don't go and try to downplay the success of my community. i have lived here for 9yrs and not once have i seen any crime i'm not poor im 17 have a mercedes 2 yachts and 5 vacation homes and guess what i'm not white don't act white and don't live around white people but i sure don't live in the hood i live in the affluent community of STONE MOUNTAIN, GEORGIA
