They usually have nicer shoes than me, so it's easy to say no.

i don't know if that's true. i know the recession pales in comparison to the great depression, but it's not hard to imagine that the train riding hobos of the depression would have a modern day corollary.

I'm sure they're not all lying, but I know for a fact that some of them are. Maybe not the ones out there right this minute, but I have known some of these people personally. When I was a kid I went to school with some people who chose this lifestyle. I know where they grew up and where their dads worked and what kind of cars their parents stupidly bought for them before they decided to be voluntary bums.

I was putting that statement out there for those that are afraid of people different from them and do not understand the causes of homelessness in America. Not directed towards you.
