No one is debating anything. Touting the facts about good public schools is a good thing.

People are free to make their own decisions. That's the whole point.
If you read my original post, I specifically stated that there was no problem in pointing out that good public schools are available in-town. What prompted my orginal post was that 3 different people stated that there was no need to send kids to private school, and 2 different people stated private schools are a "waste of money". My original post was to point out there may be other reasons that people choose private schools (in addition to not having a good public school option). In short, it was not directed at the people pointing out that good public schools options are available (and I specifically said that) but rather the people who shot down private schools entirely without knowing anything about the OP. Please do not twist my words.

Default Define "throw it in your face"

OK, I don't want to threadjack here, but when someone says they're OK with people being gay as long as they don't "throw it in my or my children's faces," I can't let that one go by. Why don't we define what constitutes "throwing it in my face?"

Is it:

1) Gay couples holding hands in public and being physically affectionate in the same way hetero couples do in public

2) Gay couples dropping each other off at work and smooching goodbye as they exit the vehicle

3) Or does it require actual over-the-top physical behavior that would be inappropriate for straight people as well?

I really want to hear someone define this tired old term - is it just a euphemism for "don't act like you have the same rights in public as everyone else?"

And just because you're conservative doesn't mean you haven't given birth to a gay child or children. It's not contagious; it's genetic, and no amount of shielding or indoctrinating your children will keep them from being gay if they're born that way - it will just ensure that they grow up very unhappy with themselves and possibly get married and have children and then end up divorcing with or without scandal.

::dismounting from soapbox now::

I live in Midtown in zip 30308, can anyone confirm which elementary school this goes to. The Atlanta Schools website shows multiple schools including Hope and Springdale. Is this correct.

That's a big zip code. Where exactly in Midtown do you live?

(then I/we could answer/help)
