It would be terrible. By 6:30 it's really backing up. Do yourself a favor and get a home in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area -- lots of nice neighborhoods.

Thanks Sharon, but we cannot afford the homes in Dunwoody as we have a 2 properties in CA that we are not selling, therefore we would rather find something in the 200's versus what a Dunwoody home would cost. What do you classify as being terrible? Coming from OC/LA area, we are accustomed to traffic, so I am curious what you guys consider to be horrible!

I wouldn't do it everyday, but if you are going to pick one of those, Woodstock is the best. It will still be a long commute, yet you may be used to it. Don't even think about holly springs or canton if you are working in dunwoody. the commute from woodstock (depending on where) at that time will be anywhere from 40 - 65 minutes in my opinion depending on which way you go.

So, from there to Sandy Springs about an hour??? What about to Vinings?

Thanks for the advice! And yes, we are accustomed to a 45-60 min commute! It took me 45 min last night to drive 12 miles home from work in CA!

erin:

It is best for you to come and/or rent for a while before you decided to purchase big investment.

I know that I was stuck several times when I visited Northside Dunwoody hospital (that's Chamblee Dunwoody on the south side of I-285). It took me 30 minutes just get on the I-285 in the rush hour. That's 3 miles at most.
