Graduation Rates | Education | WPBA

Pretty surprising. Even the burbs have many schools lower than I expected.

Hm, even Cobb and Gwinnett are below the national average.

Do they figure the statistics differently in other parts of the country?

In some counties/cities they include the schools for trouble maker children which tend to have abysmal graduation rates. In Gwinnet one of them has 0% graduation.

If you hover over the county it shows the schools in that county/city

Surprised as well. Also, the older I get the more I realize how great Fayette schools are/were. They are just a fraction of a % less than the almighty Forsyth schools, and many locals down there think the schools have gone "downhill".

All 5 Fayette County high schools are WELL ABOVE the national average -- as always and as they should be -- despite both Fayette County High and Sandy Creek High now being majority minority. Fayette County Schools truly are amazing.

People in Fayette County have never realized how well they have it They fear a growing minority population in the schools when many of the minority students actually perform higher than the white students.

And it's like that across-the-board: A couple of very unfortunate high profile crimes means it's not safe to go outside at night or shop at Fayette Pavilion anytime (when the overall crime rate is in fact less now than it was in the 90s.) A Federal judge orders district voting, resulting in the election of the county's first African-American female commissioner, and blacks are about to take over the entire county government. Pinewood Studios comes to town and gay bars will soon be opening on the Courthouse Square. (Don't laugh; people have actually said that!)

I love the place where I grew up. But many of the people who live down there are completely out of touch with reality. They don't call it the bubble for nothing.
