Default relocation for active 65's

We are looking to relocate to the Duluth/Forsyth area of Georgia to be near family. We love our 3 bedroom ranch in charlotte but it seems the right time to move. Been looking at housing for active seniors but the more we look the more confused we get. Aware that Forsyth property taxes are considerably less for seniors. Any other thoughts or ideas?

My mother looked at a project called "The Orchards at East Cherokee" that was a great active adult community. I believe the Orchards Group is building in Forsyth up off of 400 also, so you might want to check them out.

There is Sun City in Braselton, which actually sits on the border of Gwinnett, Hall, and Barrow County.
This is an outstanding place and they did a terrific job. The brand new North Georgia Hospital complex is being built right next door. With the Chateau Elan Vineyards directly across the street you should not need to worry about the area heading downhill anytime soon.

Duluth, there are two active communities for 55 and over. These are just gated housing developments with age restriction nothing more. Both are located on Rt120.
Best way to describe it is take 85 to Exit 107 turn right. Cross over Satellite Blvd, though the next light and its the first development on your right.
The next one is opposite. Exit 107 Turn Left, pass the Mall straight for 3 miles and it is on the left hand side just beyond the road construction.

All three are nice areas.

Good Luck

Many big active senior communities are in North Georgia and the very Northern parts of the metro near the foothills. I don't know names, but I've passed many driving through North Georgia. The mountains are beautiful.
