Is there a rivalry between Atlanta and New Orleans? (hotel, house)

I don't think so aside from the football thing. There are tons of people from New Orleans who relocated here after Katrina. I think the only other place there were more was in Houston.

I sincerely doubt that there is a problem. The people is one of the best things about NOLA. It's like when you rock, you know you rock so there is no need for conflict.

Sort of in football, even then it is more one-sided from Saints fans.

If you go to NOLA an express to enough people you're from Atlanta, you're gonna get some comments. If you drive around with a GA plate, you'll have a few random people honk at you and try to put down the Falcons.

When people come from NOLA to here, I don't think we really care. In fact we are a city of so many transplants, not all of the populations even cohesively pulls for the Falcons. For some reason I can't figure out this region seems to place baseball in higher prominence more cohesively, with the exception of some people who are angry over the new stadium move.

I have more positive feelings towards NOLA, but their economy is more based on a oil refining one on the gulf coast and is more similar to Houston.

One last thing... We do have some inter-personal and cultural connections with NOLA. I, as an Atlantan, was outraged with the recent lack of judgement in an op-ed in the Chicago Tribune using Katrina in a haphazard was as a metaphor for political change. I noticed more of a mixed reaction from northern and midwestern commenters, whereas most of us this far South were much more often simply angry at it.

I Only hate New Orleans when the Saints are in town, outside of that New Orleans is cool.

Even the football rivalry was more by process of elimination than any real HATE. For years the Falcons and Saints were bottom-feeders in the NFC West--it was rare that either team could get within spitting distance of a winning season, much less the 49ers--but at least we had a rivalry game. Bobby Hebert played for both, and was cheered for by both and still liked in both cities (on Atlanta's side that was more by process of elimination again--the alternative was Jeff George!).

NOLA has major problems, one, being below sea level, this place will not be around in 50-100 years, possibly sooner.

New Orleans does not compare well to Atlanta in any way, I love New Orleans to visit to live would be a nightmare. I would love to move to the ATL thou, its a great city for business, their economy is really good for my field.
