Wow, looking at these posts either most of you all don’t get out much or I'm out waaay to much.

I was at a pool party at the Buckhead Loop building a few years back and saw Jim Jones (rapper from NYC) and Allen Iverson, they were actually really cool and they let me partake in their "herbal refreshments" with them. By the way Allen Iverson is no where close to 6'1 feet tall. 5'10 maybe

I’ve seen Big Boi from OUtkast to many times to count around town.

Saw Andre 3000 from Outkast in Neiman Marcus

Saw Elton John in Neiman Marcus with that skinny blonde haired dude who I assume is his BF

Stepped on Young Jeezy's foot in Magic City one night by accident and he shoved the (spit) out of me, I couldn’t do anything but laugh

Saw Raekwon (from Wu-Tang) and Primo (producer from NYC) at Walters downtown

Saw Mannie Fresh and Baby from Cash Money Records in Walters downtown

The singer Lloyd lives in my building, see him on the regular,

Jamal Lewis (RB for the Cleveland Browns) dates some chick in my building, don’t see him that often, but his Mazarati is parked downstairs allot

Saw Jermaine Dupri and Usher at a Hawks game a few years ago, and both of them cats is maaaaaaaaaaaaaad short

Saw Killer Mike at Adamsville day last summer walking two pit bulls thru Wilson Mill Park

Saw Mike Vick at the BP across from Justins late one night high as a kite buying two boxes of blunts ( This was during his second year with the Falcons, needless to say I wasn’t surprised when he got caught trying to bring weed thru the airport some years later)

And Lastly I’ve seen a whole bunch of other stars at different clubs around town, but I don’t count those. Especially when Club Visions was open, I swear every time I went in there I saw someone famous

I’ve seen Fergie, Jay-Z, Puffy, TI, Jeezy, Cam'Ron, and Monica at the old Club Visions

Saw Travis Barker in Twist at Phipps Plaza.

And my fav celebrity sighting, I sat next too Chile from TLC, and Pebblez (LA Reids wife) at Two Urban Licks last year. I was in there celebrating my Birthday and come to find out Chile's birthday was the same day as mine. They waiter bought them a bottle of Ciroc Vodka and they passed it back and forth from their table to mine- best B-day ever

I've had two major celebrity sightings in Atlanta in my 5 years here.

1. I got into elevator with "Sinbad" at Phipps Plaza after a movie

2. I got on escalator right behind Shaq at lenox mall.

damn you sound like a celebrity yourself. I Saw about 1000 of em All star weekend. I gave Meagan Goode a hug so tight i could feel her heart beat lol. We were walking down peach tree drunk as a wino and walked right up on Kobe standing outside of that hotel right up from hard rock cafe. I didn't realize how tall he was until then. Saw too many to name in after parties. One day on spring street pastor troy pulled up right beside me in a yellow F-650.

I see young dro and fantasia almost every weekend in the escalade on rose gold 30 inch asanti's.

Hold on to your hats. This is a biggie.

I saw THE Reverend Charles Stlanley shopping at a Kroger store on Peachtree Street--maybe two-years ago. I kid you not. I swear on a stack of Bibles I'm telling the truth.

Stanley is a famous and well-known televangelist/preacher. He was with an older blonde-haired woman and she seemed to be staring and gawking at a lot of the people in the store. Stanley was doing all of the shopping and she just seemed to be tagging along and rolling her eyes at everyone. I thought her behavior was rather strange.

Through the years I've seen a few local media celebrities. Around six-years ago, Brenda Wood and her two daughters ( my assumption ) were seated at a table near mine at a restaurant in Lenox Mall. She's a lovely person with a radiant personality. She exudes warmth and was so gracious and courteous to the restuarant staff.

I ran into Cynthia Good at a bicycle shop in Buckhead quite a few years ago. She used to be a WAGA anchor.

I saw Warren Savage, a former WSB morning anchor, shopping at a Kroger store one time.

I saw Evander Holyfield downtown on a sidewalk.

I saw Kenny Rogers at Phipps Plaza a number of years ago.

I've seen a number of CNN anchors out and about through the years.

The few listings of celeb sightings in each post made me giggle because, growing up near and then living right in Los Angeles - esp. near Hollywood, I would have the longest post ever if I made a list of all the famous people I have seen out there. I actually kept a list for a while when I was attending UCLA. I easily had over 50 people on the list. I think a lot of stars visit places like Atlanta and Miami... but they all seem to live (full or part-time atleast) in Los Angeles. I mean, I attended church with Denzel Washington, Lela Rochon, Angela Bassett/Courtney, and Magic Johnson/Cookie on a regular weekly basis. And the funny thing is, they came to watch me (well, not exactly - but I was in the choir and sat behind the pastor - so that's what I told myself ).
Your post reminded me of studying at UCLA and LA. I hadn't even thought about it really but this made me realize how much celebrity and VIP spottings are a part of life in a place like LA. One time I was crossing the center of a small quad on campus at the same time as another man who was very friendly and spoke to me as we passed but I didn't even notice him until afterward as I was engrossed in my thoughts about something or other. But after passing him I looked back and noticed it was Michael Dukakis, who was teaching government classes at UCLA at the time. He seemed genuinely friendly.

I suspect people living in certain high-density places -- maybe even certain intown restaurants -- have a lot of these experiences in Atlanta too.

This is nerdy but...

I see Jim Cantore (Weather Channel star) at Costco in Cumberland somewhat occasionally. He's actually an alum of my undergrad school (we're both meteorologists).

And I'm just nerdy enough to appreciate it. Esp. since I'm a weather maniac (who's up in subzero Indiana as we speak and loving every minute of it).

Me and my wife ran across Fat Joe once at the airport. That was before we we were living here and we were either coming from or going on a vacation. Cat ran like Carl Lewis or something after my wife just went over to confirm it was him. It wasn't like she would have made a scene because neither one of us are really into hip-hop or its stars. Other than that I have yet to see anybody in the almost 2 years that I've been living here. Now that I work in Colony Square I might run into somebody familiar at some point.

Ok, this was actually a VERY old (1 year) thread that someone revived, but I'll add to it since it's about a topic that is continuing.

A good number of years ago (mid 1980s) I worked in a restaurant intown and used to regular have Cynthia Good and Brenda Wood both as customers, along with Clark Howard and others. Good and Wood (ewww, that almost sounds like a dirty video), were indeed very personable and friendly people. Clark Howard was somewhat to himself, though polite - but there's a reason he's rich - he's a horrible tipper.

Warran Savage must have eluded prison - he was in trouble not long ago I believe for selling drugs.

And here's one for the ladies ... I saw Tom Regan of channel two - naked. Yes, ladies, try to contain yourselves. I used to work in Colony Square when I lived intown as well, and worked out after work at their gym facilities in the afternoon. Regan had just come to Atlanta and started at Channel 2 and used to work out there. I can tell you this - there is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING more awkward than walking into the shower area, and almost bumping into someone who's exiting a shower stall, only to go, "Oh, hey, I know who you are"... and then realize you are both facing each other with no clothes on. Ewwwwww.

In the past via work-related encounters, I have also met Phyllis Diller, Jimmy Carter, and actor Charles Grodin. I may have missed one or two but that's it.

I met Sean Hannity once at a party back when he was just a Limbaugh wannabe here. I should have landed him one right on that overchiseled jaw of his. Ah, missed opportunities.
