Don't have many, they are all of the local variety, but the best one was because of the specific scenario.

It was November election day in 94, the midterm elections when the Republican contract with America made the news. It was an absolutely gorgeous fall day and went on a hike at Kennesaw Mtn. On the long stretch between Dallas Hwy and Burnt Hickory (if you know this stretch, you would realize it would be difficult to find anywhere else in metro Atlanta to be so remotely removed from everything yet still be "here") and I ran into Newt Gingrich walking the other way with two advisor types. He was in a suit and nice shoes, but I guess was looking for some place to unwind and get away from everything. I said "I voted for you today" and he said "thanks, I appreciate that greatly, please go tell all your friends and neighbors to do the same." Still strikes me as odd that the one time I would have ever seen him in person would be on the day of the election that catapulted him into the national political spotlight.

Stood in line behind Tom Glavine at Whitewater, saw John Smoltz there another time with his kids. Sat at a table next to Chipper Jones at a Black Eyed Pea in Marietta during his rookie season. Met Brett Butler (fromer Brave, not the comedienne) at a funeral of a mutual friend.

Saw Hosea Williams in his Eldorado Convertible at a gas station late one night at 14th and Spring.

Saw Guy Sharpe at Benihanas on Peachtree.

About the only sighting that was beyond the local level, spotted Bruce Willis and Demi Moore and their girls in Centennial Park during the Olympics. Really wasn't close, someone else saw them and pointed them out.

All this would have been in the 90s.

Years ago I ran into Evander Holyfield at the Atlanta Airport. He had just arrived and he went outside and stood there for like 10 minutes waiting on his wife to pick him up. I thought that was kind of strange but other than that, he was really nice.

Years ago I was driving around right where Old Canton Rd. meets Lower Roswell Rd. in Marietta (near Terrell Mill) and I saw a slightly overweight Newt Gingrich jogging along. I think he was already Speaker of the House then, but there were no bodyguards or anything. Just Newt heaving along.

I once heard that Gwyneth Paltrow visited Agnes and Muriels in Ansley Park.

I saw Zell Miller in the Borders at Peachtree Rd. Looked very fashionable in his black wool coat.

I've seen Big Boi and Big Tigga at a liquor store in College Park. Big Boi had just been punk'd and I clowned him about it and we laughed.

I seen Usher at Brio in buckhead.

I haven't sighted many celebs during my years in Atlanta, but I can be very oblivious to anyone's presence if I'm not expecting to see them. I've walked right by friends without seeing them, so I'm sure I've done the same with a famous person or two. Most of mine are athletes...I have seen:

Monica Seles at the airport.
Kevin Willis and Mookie Blaylock walking together at Lenox.
Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls at Cowtippers in Midtown.
Armistead Maupin (author) at a book signing.
Coretta Scott King speaking at Piedmont Park - she was a great orator just like her husband.
Amanda Bearse of Married with Children in Midtown.
Bill Clinton in Woodruff Park.
Chris Evert walking around at the huge International Sports Trade Show they used to have at GWCC.
Jennifer Capriati at the same show at GWCC.
Pam Shriver at the same show at GWCC.
Greg Maddux with his kids at ZooAtlanta.
Monica Kauffman at Ansley Mall Kroger.

I have not lived in Atlanta for years... but I have friends in Atlanta and get reports from times to time.

For example:

Toni Braxton is the backyard neighbor of a friend of a friend in Alpharetta... and Raven Symone lives in that same Alpharetta neighborhood. My friend reported seeing both of these celebs when she was staying with her friend in Alpharetta.
