I'm looking for good/authentic Mexican food.

Specifically, I'd like to find really good nachos.

Not looking for an "area" but looking for SPECIFIC restaurants to try.

What are your suggestions?

Loredo Nuevo
Bone Garden Cantina
Alma Cocina

My faves anyways.

I think you may be searching for Tex-Mex.

But regardless - to answer your question - this is my pick:

Atlanta's Top Rated Mexican Food Restaurant

Most Americans don't know the difference...lol.

I love good authentic Mexican food AND good Tex-Mex, though.

It will be interesting to see what places people recommend.

No, not really. I do mean authentic Mexican. But at the same time, I am also looking for some good nachos.

Back in Arizona, there was a local Mexican place that stayed open 24hrs. My wife would visit that place at sometimes 3am and order their nachos. I'd like to find that here if I can.

I'd also like to find some good authentic (as in what you'd find in San Diego, Los Angeles, Phoenix authentic). I've lived in all 3 of those western cities in my past (mostly San Diego). I'm hoping to find something similar what I grew accustomed to there. Don't care where I have to drive to find it. Just point me in the right direction.

Rolled tacos
Carne asada
Burritos
Carnitas
Enchiladas
Tamales
Empinadas

And some nachos

My current favorite is El Mexicano on Moreland. It's sort of California style Mexican food.

I really liked Tacos la Villa in Cobb off 41 just north of 285. Carne asada, pollo, lengua, al pastor, carnitas and a lot more. They have more than tacos so you can probably get nachos there too. Not really a restaurant though. Are tables but it's self serve for the most part

Ahh! I know exactly where Tacos La Villa is... That's not far for me! I'll give them a try.

So far, seems like every place suggested is west of 75/85.
Midtown/Westside, Cobb/Smyrna, Downtown...

Does anyone have any favorite Mexican spot on the Eastern sides of town?
As in Buford Hwy? Stone Mountain area? Decatur? Avondale Estates? Tucker? Gwinnett?
