My mistake. I was thinking 8 car trains were the norm. Maybe during rush hour, but off peak probably not.

It's 6 cars all day long, even late night. Costs more to reconfigure the trains than to just run with a light mode.

Didn't they run the full length 8 cars during the Olympics? But they haven't since then, I think.

Not full-time, but usually for major events (Peachtree Road Race, NYE, etc.)

They used to run 8 car trains on the Blue Line before they went to 10 minute peak headways. It's not about trains per hour, but cars per hour.

The Blue line has been 6 cars since at least 2011, the headway change did not affect Blue Line train length.

BS, I caught several 8 car trains. Not every train was 8 cars, but there was a few and I even spoke to a manager or rail operations about it at a MARTA event in 5 points. That is where I was explained that it's not about trains per hour, but cars per hour and by going down to 6 cars per train, the cars per hour changed very little when the headways were shortened.
15 minute headways:
8 car trains: 8*4= 32

10 minute headways:
6 car trains: 6*6=36

Brookhavens NIMBYs are holding up rezoning approval of Brookhaven TOD project.
MARTA's Mixed-Use Overhaul in Brookhaven Hits a Snag - Curbed Atlanta
Quote:
While MARTA officials had intented for the project to get underway this spring, recent vocal opposition has cropped up due to concerns about the impact of traffic in surrounding neighborhoods. Now city officials have bowed to the concerns, stating they will not approve rezoning until after infrastructure needs have been studied, meaning the rezoning application will not be addressed until at least June 1.

All the more reason for these developers to set up on the Westside and Southside line. Why oppose TOD where rail exist?
