Happy Friday Y'all,

I'm originally from Atlanta and have spent most of my life in the city but have lived between California and Louisiana for the past 5 years. I'm contemplating a move back and looking into buying a home on the west side (knight park area) or East Atlanta - I've lived on the west side and love both of these neighborhoods. I think they're growing very quickly and perhaps I've missed out on some good deals. Housing prices seemed to have jumped significantly in the past few years - they seem relatively high right now but I'm afraid the values will skyrocket as further development continues. My budget is around 300k and looking for a 2/3 bed 2/3 bath house - I'll be living solo for awhile but most likely going to fill the vacant rooms to help cover the mortgage and expenses. I've been accessing real estate listing sites such as zillow, redfin, etc. and I'm seeing a trend of property not staying on the market very long. Do y'all think it's a good time to buy and how do you see the real estate game panning out in ATL over the next few years? Cheers!

With Atlanta, I think there will always be long term growth. May be ups and downs, but stick with it and you'll see a return. If you can afford it, go for it.
