I don't understand how this parking situation @ the Southlake route terminus/begin point wasn't addressed when the location was chosen for this route. Isn't it a no-brainer that the mall mgmt/ownership were part of the process? Is it not also a no-brainer that it should have been obvious that some bus patrons would need to leave their vehicles there? Nobody lives at the mall. I mean, come on!

There is a large transfer center at Cumberland Mall serving MARTA, CCT and (I think) GRTA Xpress buses. How is the parking situation handled there? Cumberland is obviously a much healthier (and busier) mall than Southlake.

I'm guessing the issue with Southlake is liability, security, etc., and that's a valid one. Seems the solution would be for MARTA to lease a portion of the parking lot for commuters.

They do not allow parking for bus riders.

MARTA bus riders DO park at Southlake Mall. I do it and know many who do, and most of us shop at the mall regularly. The mall just won't say that it is OK to do so- but like I have said, the bus riders are not taking spaces away from Southlake customers. We just need some simple clarification about where to park. The mall should use this as an opportunity to be a good neighbor. They could use the situation to their advantage in an effort to increase the number of mall shoppers.

Yes it could, it could use this opportunity to gain customers where riders can run some errands; dry cleaners, small groceries, etc. before getting in their car and driving home.
