Terwilliger Pappas plans to redevelop a little more than 11 acres in Chamblee - Atlanta Business Chronicle

Quote:
A stretch of Peachtree just north of Atlanta’s newest office and apartment towers continues seeing its own wave of development.

Developer Terwilliger Pappas plans to redevelop a little more than 11 acres on the northern fringe of the city at Peachtree Boulevard and Clairmont Road with hundreds of new apartments.

The project is part of public hearing scheduled tonight in Chamblee, one of the cities just outside Atlanta that sits along the MARTA Gold line. It started catching the eye of more developers just before the economy crashed in 2008.

In the past two years, that interest returned.

Terwilliger Pappas is proposing Parkview on Peachtree, a project that calls for 310 units in its first phase and another 200 in the second. The redevelopment would also include retail and office space, a pedestrian bridge, and a link to an old railroad bed the city has converted to a trail network...
Development along the MARTA Gold Line is booming!

Awesome! Chamblee has been a little bright spot of spreading renewal that is often missed.

I must joke though... I can't wait to shop at Natural Grocery Store and eat Restaurant Signage. I've heard nothing but good things.

Looks like this is moving forward: Connolly, Terwilliger begin first phase of Chamblee project with hundreds of apartments, street-level retail (SLIDESHOW) - ABC

The renders look great!

Quote:
It’s a sign of the times. “Atlanta is going through one of the fastest urbanizations of any city in the world,” Connolly said. “For Millennials and empty-nesters, the big house in the suburbs is not as appealing as it once was. Today they want to be in walking or biking distance to their jobs, retailers, trails, and restaurants.”

The renderings do look great! This is practically across the street from the new Whole Foods.

Too much surface parking to be 2 blocks from the Chamblee Station.

Those apartments are ugly as sin (unless the rendering just didn't color them properly).

But Chamble is in a great location and could be one of the next bright spots in the city. I love Chamblee with its easy access to everything that is great about Atlanta, both ITP and OTP!
