Before you do that, why not check and see if you, an American Citizen, where visiting Canada, and hit a Car in some town, would they issue you a Citation, and let you go back to the good old USA on a remote chance you may return for Court? Not likely....

I think you will find it the same in every Country, once you cross International Borders. If it was that easy, you would not be seeing all these cases of Americans being held in Jails for infractions as much as you do see.

Think outside the Box folks....

Space Cadet.

Your question is kind of dumb......The man travelled to Georgia, to see a couple of Braves games.

He was driving his own car, with plates from his home Province of Saskatchewan, and he would have had to show his Canadian passport, to enter the USA, at a US Immigration checkpoint. He is not very likely to be an illegal immigrant. Canadians are quite capable of applying for, and receiving official permission to work and live in the USA. It's called having a work visa.

Please tell me that you were trying to make a joke ?

Jim B.

Exactly. We aren't some random town of 500 in the Appalachians that inspired Deliverance.

I got into a minor fender bender in Montreal. Beyond making sure I had insurance, I wasn't detained, cuffed and hauled off to jail. Pleasant folks, the Canadians.

Interesting statement. But I will bite.

Here is an outside-the-box question:

Why is it that in the era of hi-speed Internet, webcams, and Skype...is this so-called great and advanced United States of America....still mandating people's physical presence in a court of law?

Wonder how CCPD or Smyrna PD would have handled it?

Guess we'll find out in a couple/three years...

Maybe I am misinterpreting your statement, but I wouldn't exactly look to CCPD and Smyrna PD as the bastions of enlightened law enforcement practices.

They have their own controversial issues to deal with.

Normally if you have a strange desire to drive over 1800 miles one-way, you anticipate that something bad might happen. Not quite this, however!
