Braves explore spring training move to St. Petersburg | www.ajc.com

Quote:
The Braves have been considering options for a spring-training home for when their lease at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports complex expires in 2017. The Braves have trained in Lake Buena Vista since 1988.

The new facility in Pinellas County would include athletic fields, a hotel, office space and a sports medicine facility, according to the request for proposal submitted in August to the county.

The group — comprised of the real estate development firm Echelon; the Gary Sheffield Sports Foundation; and the Atlanta Braves — estimated the development would cost about $660 million.

Included in the plan is a 10,000-seat baseball stadium with berm seating for an additional 1,000 fans. The proposal suggests more than one team major league team could be housed in the complex.
Maybe they should just move the whole team there? It is a better fit for their attendance and their stadium in Cobb will probably feel old by then.

Why is it a "better fit for their attendance?"

Face it, the Cobb/Braves haters are going to keep doing their best to drive wedges.

Seems like a smart move given that more of the Grapefruit League teams are in that area than when we opened the Disney complex.

It was a joke off their low attendance. Maybe they can fill up that 10,000 seat stadium.

As a lifetime Braves fan, they can move the current roster anywhere! They are terrible.

It's ridiculous. Got on CD for the first time in a while and three threads on the Atlanta page from this minority. Very small minority.

How much money are they trying to screw the residents of Pinellas County out of?
