Sounds pretty good, IMHO.

Whew, I'm glad the state seems to be on top of this.

It's gonna take a lot more than showing them Ponce City Market and the Beltline and hoping they buy a mixed use development with open office spaces and no parking for employees.

Good luck, Atlanta, this would be a great victory!

While I'm sure they are just toying with state politics and CT or may move across the state line to NY if they cut a deal. Can't say how big this would be, really would put ATL in real play in corporate world. They have some big companies, sure, but this would be much, much bigger. Realize the scope, they are one of the top 20-30 companies in terms of revenue in the world, and top 10 in US.

If they decided to come to ATL, that would draw eyes from other CEOs for sure and they are almost double the size in terms of revenue to the biggest revenue company in ATL now, Home Depot.

Of note, gotta think having a school like Georgia Tech in the city limits is a nice draw, as they tend to invest in colleges for recruiting.

Damn, look at that thing! A fairly simple skyscraper, yes, but within walking distance of the Buckhead MARTA station. I guarantee you that the new pedestrian bridge over 400 helped influence the decision to build there.

These kinds of move suck and are a big problem. States shouldn't be subsidizing such things.

No kidding. Our track record w/ NCR should be a great cautionary tale. Cost us 100M+ to get that dumpster fire of a company. GE is over 60X the size and actually successful. It'll take one crazy incentive package to pull them over.

Atlanta would be a good option for GE but if I were betting, I'd bet on Texas, probably Dallas...that's where my company landed after doing a search before leaving California.

Seems like that Tishman building would be a perfect fit for a company like GE.

Dallas is already out because of their reps stance on import-export.
