I never said that it is never referenced. I said that I never heard a mention of it in everyday conversation.

Where would you all say the center of nightlife/walk ability is in ATL for the young professional, 20-30 crowd that isn't crazy partying, but just out for a relaxing night with a few drinks? Does that sound like Decatur Square basically?

Decatur is fun, it seems to be more family centered but, there are YP. Edgewood Ave, L5P, EAV has some fun places, that aren't crazy partying.

Crescent Ave, maybe? I don't know how it is a late night though, but pretty much exactly that after work and around dinner.

You don't think the fact that it took place in the 1970's and involved a hostage situation and a few murders have anything to do with that?

No more than any presidential assassination. It's called history. It is always present, but not at the forefront of our consciousness at all times.

Ok, so Decatur Square, Crescent Ave. (main commercial drag of Midtown I suppose?), Edgewood Ave. (this is almost essentially Sweet Auburn nabe right?) Little 5 Points, and East Atlanta Village, which I really hadn't heard of. WPD also looks pretty cool/somewhat classy from what I have seen, and the architecture looks sweet.

One more question. One of the things I miss most being in FL are fall and spring. What are the couple of weeks or so that are peak time for oranges/yellows in the area (and north), and what times are peak for rhododendrons, cherry blossoms, flowers etc. to be in bloom?

Thanks again!

The Munich Olympics were in 1972 - 44 years ago. Only people in their late 50's and older probably have any real memory of the games and probably not pleasant memories given what happened at those games.
Also, Germany is a very different country than is was during that period. Many bigger and more significant events have happened with reunification being at the top of the list.

Let's see how much the '96 Olympics are recalled in 2040. Doubt any of the venues will exist and Olympic Park will probably be the only reminder that people will directly reference.
