A tax on new vehicles which pull in on average the same as the gas tax would? Obviously not perfect since some last way longer than others. But a yearly tax is even more unfair since people drive different amounts.

Don't like the idea of GPS in cars for the government.

Ya'll are worried about the feds tracking you, but that can easily be done with your phones now.

I can easily ditch a GPS cellphone if I want for one without. Wouldn't be able to do that with my car. I think government required GPS devices in this country are a political nonstarter. I'd rather tax vehicles.

If you took Uber and transit, they feds couldn't track you then.
