Lawn mowing/maintenance/cleanup costs? (Sandy Springs, Alpharetta: how much, home, landscaping)

What does is cost to have a lawn/landscaping service mow your lawn and do leaf cleanups on a typical lawn in a regular subdivision in a place like Alpharetta or Sandy Springs/Dunwoody? (Say you have a half acre, more or less.)
Do people generally pay someone for this or do they tend to do it themselves?
Do subdivisions commonly use the same particular lawn maintenance company?
If so, is there a group rate for this?

$165 per month. Includes cut, edge, blow, weed maintenance in beds and all small tree/shrub trimming.

Fertilizer/weed control on lawn is extra.

I don't have time to do it myself ... so I outsource.

I paid around $40 per visit as well for the basics - mowing, edging, and neatening up of bushes. I used them around every week. Many people do their own yards, but it can be very inconvenient depending on how much leisure time you spend at home. I mean, I planted some flowers, but I did not have time to the regular maintenance.

I did not know a soul in the area, but I did ask my neighbors for recommendations about who they used. I would not say there was an actual group discount, but I think the price was reasonable because of the number of people using them and also the service was superior because of the desire to keep their clients.

Agreed. Remember though that you'll likely have to pay in winter months when there is really liked title for the lawn folks to do.
